New Overwater Bungalows in Jamaica have been one of the most talked-about news in the Caribbean. Their indulgent atmosphere, accompanied by a spectacular location and all-inclusive service is all one can wish on a romantic getaway.
As announced early in 2016, five over-the-water villas were built to start off the season in November 2016.
However, the demand they raised had beaten all the expectations. And fast forward Sandals Resorts announced their plans to build 12 more over water villas.
These 12 new Overwater Bungalows opened on March 4 on the northern shores of Jamaica, at Montego Bay.
Built along a beautiful wooden, heart-shaped boardwalk, the bungalows are perched at the edge of the water at Sandals Royal Caribbean’s offshore private island, Sandals Cay.
Inspiration and Design
Inspired by Tahitian overwater huts, Sandals indeed created the most sophisticated design and surely an unforgettable atmosphere.
Each of the bungalows has a different design, but all have representing Feng Shui elements such as Wood, Water, Fire, Earth and Metal, illustrated through unique elements from warm wooden pendants and underwater art pieces to mirrored and metallic accents.
Making your reservation here’s what you can expect...
Among all the fancy furniture and standard amenities you would expect from a luxury suite like this, I’m particularly in love with:
The glass floor and lit water, so you can see the fish swimming below.
Bathrooms with his and hers sinks and walk-in rain shower (ahh!)
Custom crafted king-size beds, adorned with soft linens and plush pillows
Private outdoor Tranquility Soaking Tub - soak in the view while you soak in the whirlpool tub, inhaling the salty ocean.
Sun loungers and a bistro set for two (for quick bites between the snorkeling dives)
Service & Restaurants
Your bungalow also comes with a 24/7 butler service, exclusive in-room dining and direct access to the main resort via a ‘Royal Duffy’ luxury boat.
An experience in and of itself, the private island features a newly redesigned pool with a signature pool-bar and number of nested hideaways.
Among 8 on-property restaurant and bars, 2 stand out the most. The Jerk Shack, offers authentic rustic cuisine in a traditional jerk-a Jamaican style and Royal Thai, capture the flavors of the East.
Located on the northern shores of Jamaica, Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort & Private Island a mere 10 minutes from Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport.
Sandals have really high hospitality standards, so it’s no surprise here, that in addition to all service “on-site” they also offer a personal airport greeting with expedited immigration, private luxury resort transfers, welcome gifts, including a branded beach tote and towel set; Molton Brown bathroom amenities, and probably even more.
